Pohjolan Voima to maintain Kokemäenjoki power plants

Pohjolan Voima will assume overall responsibility for the maintenance of the Kokemäenjoki hydropower plants at the beginning of 2010.

The agreements were signed on 25 November 2009. With the agreements, PVO-Vesivoima Oy commits to operating of the Harjavalta, Kolsi, Tyrvää and Äetsä power plants and the regulation of Rauta-Kulovesi. The Melo power plant is owned by Pohjolan Voima, and the same personnel are responsible for its maintenance.

The maintenance service was ordered by Länsi-Suomen Voima Oy, Statkraft Suomi Oy, UPM-Kymmene Oyj and Kokemäenjoen Säännöstely-yhtiö. Statkraft Suomi Oy joined the service as a new collaborative partner. The plants and regulations of the other agreement partners have been taken care of on a contractual basis since 1999. These agreements were renewed as well. All of the agreements are valid until further notice.
